I have been looking in the newspaper and reading it faithfully since we recently have mysteriously been receiving a free newspaper...Haven't been able to catch the paper boy at 3 am to tell him his mistake, noone returns calls either. NeWayz I didn't want to waste them, but it's made me just really ready to start preparing. So after looking at lots of ads for furniture that I want to put in my new house, garden relics and countless other things I WANT, I've finally decided how I'm gonna use my stimulus package. It's ALL going towards my 72 hr kit and family year supply.
After seeing cyclones, tornadoes, earthquakes, fires and floods across the Nation all happen, literally in one single week. Let's just say it kinda woke me up that there is no more time, this cannot wait any longer. Since my husband can now afford a mortgage and we will soon have our own place...& many thanks to Uncle Sam and a big answer from my worried prayers to God the Almighty...Thanks for the stimulus package.
Here are some places, I found great ideas

so true, and scary! There are so many signs of the times. Year supply is something I also need to work on! Good for you for trying to be prepared!
Boo..I vote new furniture!!
Just kidding...that's really good that you are doing this! It would be hard to use the money for it..but it's probably the most important thing you can do for your family! I REALLY need to work on this. Thanks for the links..I'll look at them for ideas!
I was talking to my mother and she was telling me how the bible has advised us of these things for thousands of years. She is slowly coming around.
Did u find a house?
Hey, I was looking at some of your old posting. I am a huge Stephanie Meyer fan myself. I can not wait for the 4th book to come out in Aug. and the movie in Dec.
HA, you can say that Ed is my Vampire. But Bel is my nickname so we are the true Ed and Bel. =) She chose great names. Good thing I took the username before anyone else took it.
Great idea!!! my sister n law Kathy is doing the same exact thing ...older sister must think alike!!! not that your old ...just older!! nevermind I always do that ...."foot insert here!!!" buh bye
So smart of you to start to get a little more prepared. Im the worst at this..
Hey, I had always meant to come to apologize that I was not able to make it to the birthday party. I had a baby shower that just happened to be at the same time. I still felt bad cause I had said I would be there. So Im sorry!
I love that you are getting things "ready"! Yes, your year supply is very important and the 72 hours kits are priceless. We had our 72 hour kit food "canned", like you would can food. That way, if something did happen, like a flood, then you sould still be able to eat it.
Don't forget to constantly rotate clothes out of it. I keep the next size clothes that they will grow into in the kid's bags. Underwear and Shoes included. They are usually winter and summer clothes that I have picked up at DI. What would you need to look good for in an emergency?
BTW, Stephenie Meyer was in my ward here in Tempe before she moved to the west valley. We would sit and watch our boys together. Pancho, her hubby is a funny dude, you would like him.
Hey- you said that you didnt want to blog as much cause it wasnt going in a book, remember? Well you can have it made into a hardbound book! You design, then they make it! And the prices are pretty reasonable. Now there's a reason to blog, right? Let's see pics of the new house!
