Our New Ride: "Shamu the Grey-8"

It was a last minute Labor Day Picnic, the Fa Family put together in Chandler. We the Tuihala's were excited to have a new ride to get there in, especially because the new vehicle is both entertaining for the kids ( dvd player) and fully air-conditioned; opposed to our last vehicle that gave us unpredictable on and off A/C and driving performance. I named our last car (Ford Taurus 98) "Dory"
Poor Dory.... at the moment she suffers from a little more than short-term memory loss, so we left her at the Fa's home and took our new "Shamu the GR8"( Ford Expedition XLT 2004) in style. Although we got lost...for a few seconds. (
Dory: "What is it with men and asking for directions?") We met most of the rest of the Fa Peoples at a park in Chandler, down a street called Desert Breeze Click here to visit the Desert Breeze Park website »
Salena (Bena) my little sister, found this park to spend our Labor Day "Holi-Day"
at. This park is full of the young kiddeze. kind of fun. Our kids especially loved the Splash-pad with stone carved water spouting animals there were elephants, camels dolphins, and seals along with a huge blue tube slides playground, 3 dollar rides on Desert Breeze Train with a Railroad Boarding station (GOES TWICE AROUND THE PARK), a 2-ticket Carousel ride (2 short), and a beautiful lake for fishing., lots of BBQ picnic areas. Fun+Fun=Fun 2 Do Thanks Mom and Leroy for the Great Food !!!!!
Lana on the train ride
All of us going around the park again

Tali runs for fun with cousin Maizi
Lana poses with eyes closed
Fear of water in eyes :" Aquaopticle Phobic"

Tali says this is Soo fun, are we done with this photoshoot?

Finished .....or not? That is the answer.

This Blog contains SPOILERS for those of you have not read Breaking Dawn so if you don't want to be confused don't read it.
Okay, I finished Breaking Dawn today at 12:27 high noon. I know, I know... it's true that a truly true-blue S.M. fan, would have finished about a month ago. However I have my reasons and I have always been a slow paced one at that. At least my thirst, for more Edward and Bella romance, has finally been satiated, for the time. I can't help but thinking however that with the knowledge of living forever, there will be more loose ends to tie. Perhaps, in the next 3 Chronicles of Renesmee's life. Holding my breath with fingers crossed. I have to say that would be my choice for what direction, I would prefer the story to continue with. Jacob, is still my favorite although he got sorta wierd and mushy, when he imprinted but maybe that was also because I got cut off from hearing his hell-o funny, crack up thoughts, after Bella opened up her chapter. Although Jacob, was not the main character and with the exception to Edward, Bella and Alice, I always did feel a bit more comfortable with the more down to earthy, human characters in this series. Well, I am glad to have life start again back to "normal" for me...I am not however explicitly enthused with the large pile of scattered dirty dishes in my kitchen or the new mound of laundry that is emitting an unpleasant smell, screaming of a day old, reek. Neglected at concious will, of course. However, I will always count myself happy with such an ending. However mundane my mortal life is, it is completely exhaustive enough for me to handle with out any more covens or clans... right now, oh...excuse me Garret-the Nomad, (and in his more appropriate description of the Cullens) "family"... of monsters.

Stephenie Meyer gets an A++ for the grade from this fan.

Tagged by Bena (Salena Langford)

Tagged? What??? okay, so I never posted Tina's Tag but it was a picture tag about how clean my house was at that moment. Sorry Tina don't want any more dirty laundry on my blog. I think I like this tag though, so, I'll post something about Leilana.

Name/meaning behind it: It was gonna be Keilana until my mom spelled it wrong on her announcement..She thought it was Leilana and so we liked the "L" better than the "K".
Original roots: Hawaii's Leilani "Heavenly Flower" but, now she has a cousin named Keilani.

Birthdate: May, 3rd 2005
Nicknames: "Lana" or "Crazy-hair" or "Insect of all insects"

Favorite activity(ies): She loves to act: She turns on the video, but doesn't watch it...no she has it memorized instead and in a little corner, she is acting it out, while she listens to the movie cues. she does this with all her faves like Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Anastasia, Little Rascals, Cinderella is her fave of faves. I was amused when she did the scene with Gus-gus in the trap, when she scolds Bruno the dog (that made me laugh) or the wiping the kitchen floor with a rag...singing her version of sweet nighting- gale. We had to finally stop that one, when she started pouring lots of water and soap on the floor. She usually gets out props or makes mom get them (my newest pet pieve). Cinderella, for example, starts out with a pillow and bedsheet (wakeup scene), Scene 2: is Tea cups and slippers.
She also loves to dance: She can choreograph any random song with her own interpretational dance.

Favorite food(s): Broccolli, Brussel sprouts, Green beans, Dressing with lettuce, ketchup (by itself), cheese sticks or cubes, French fries, chocolate, icecream. candy!!! She barely will eat any meat or carbs. Wierd little kid.

Favorite music (songs): Kung Foo fighting, anything Jack Johnson, NOGGIN songs, and of course her princess songs and she loves her 4 primary songs she knows.

Favorite toy(s): Teacups (Mr's Potts and Kip set) & more Teacups(the ceramic set), wooden blocks, Dolls with Ba-ba's, her cloth princess babies.

Favorite items of clothing: Her swim suits, her ballerina suit, her Sunday dresses

What makes me happy:She is always happy about being with her cuzn's. She is now officially happy about Nursury and her new friend Aurelia"Liela", She is happy when Mommy holds her in the morning, like I do with her little sister"Tali-babes". Reading bedtime books (a whole pile) or when she laughs at mommy's funny version of 3 bears. She absolutely loves Birthday parties and asks me everyday about Christmas.

What makes me sad: Sad at naptimes, Sad at the end of the day for not getting a nap, sad with itchy rashes, when she is told no peanut buttee (peanut allergy), sad when mommy is to busy for preschool that day...Sorry Lana, I'm a busy mom. She gets this sad mopey face on, when I say that. Sorry when Tali is hurt. She pats her head and says "Oh...Tali-wags, I'm so solly".with her most lil' compassionate voice.

a DAY in the LIFE of ......PRESCHOOLERS.... "IN THE HOUSE"

HERE IS OUR........, TODAY

Lana, shaping NUMBERS with playdough: she adds water on #9
Experiment#9+H2O = a BIG mess!

Tali eating the playdough lid..."Hey, my tongue is learning."
Lana learning a few practical skills: The making of a BA-BAH (baby bottle)
ONE: theres counting and measuring 3 scoops

TWO: Doing the "Shake It" dance (Don't 4-get the Lid)
Ahhhh then Finally......
THREE:....the actual product gets delivered to the customer.
To make life more meaningful I play.... Preschool Teacher with my kids
we ride in a pretend bus,
(from the Great room 2 the Kitchen.)
(it's pretty much Everyday now, except Tuesdays which is Dad's Day off)
I don't really prepare much ahead, I just grab and pull stuff on the spot.
But I like to record what we went over, only to keep track of what they learned...

Since, it rained last night..we learned how clouds turn into rain.
(required : just a cottonball and water)
We took a field trip to : The back yard and
Lana counted the clouds...1...2....3
These workbooks I found in the Target $1 buck bins

(pretty thrifty, they come with cool stickers too)
She learned to follow directions..here Uhmmmm ,
I am laughing inside because that graph she really did by herself, & it is pretty congruent with how she actually follows my verbal directions. Close enough Lana, Good Job!
Then she applies what she has learned for herself and makes Chocolate milk .......Oh wait Don't....Do that...oh, OH. Oh no...Messes ....What Have I Done???

WASHABLE?

I left the kids, for about 15 minutes
watching their favorite NOGGIN channel.

while I put breakfast together, after 12 minutes I realized something strange was going on....It was PURE silence...that should be a good thing, yet usually I hear squawking and screaming when these 2 are together alone.....As soon as I came in to check, they were all smiles both happy in the playpen together .

AWWWW so sweet, until, I take a look closer...

Well at least they are washable........right?

..... 3 Baths Later......

What ?????I am sure it said washable on the packages.....

more than short

Before

After

I went to Great clips on Monday night, somehow forgetting my bad experience with them 10 years ago. Yeah, I asked for just the dead ends to be cut off, keep the length. My hair was all the way down to my lower back.... I think they got them all, watcha think? So much for my Hula hair.

1*2*3* 4 years married..A Reflection on how we first met.

4th: Anniversary, Mommy made a Heart shaped (fruit)cake trying to imitate her original wedding cake ( not as pretty)
Daddy brought home Beautiful Flowers & Cadbury chocolates (Big Surprise!)
We had a BBQ Flat Iron steak with grilled peppers and onions, Golden garlic mashed potatoes, Fried Zucchini & Strawberry Lemonaide (no picture because we ate it up too fast)

Our engagement photo

The 1st time I met Aisake (Isaac) was at the Mesa, (AZ) LDS Temple in December 2003.He told me later that was the first day he flew in from NZ and his first vacation out of NZ. I was introduced to him, by my friend Jason (Soni) who was preparing to go on a mission, who interestingly told Isaac, in their 1st language that I was his girlfriend...(which wasn't true) but ....he (Jason) gave Aisake permission to go Eva ( hangout/ date) with me, while he was on his mission , Hmmmm ( How nice of him!)

The 2nd time :

These are actual pictures taken on the second time I met Aisake. I was fooling around with a digital camera that a friend of mine let me borrow. Aisake, came and sat by me at a dance, he was at the ball with my cuz'n. I ended up at that dance by happenstance, with my friends Lucious and Suli . We weren't enjoying the Cotton -eye Joe groove going on at the MCC hosted Christmas Formal, so we tryed out the Tongan Y.A. Christmas Ball. It was then that Isaac asked me if I was dating anyone. As far as I knew I wasn't. I left the dance early before I could talk to him again that night.

......... a few days later

I got a surprise, call from a friend, Ray. He asked if I was interested in the new stranger in town from NZ. and told me that he heard that the guy liked me. (I sorta caught that vibe) but then I reminded Ray if he could please tell that guy how old I was..( that should do the trick) How old are you again? asked Ray...( Oh brother)

The 3rd time we met was also by happenstance. I was in a singles ward out in north mesa and it was a Sunday and there was a broadcast Christmas Fireside that week and I was suppposed to meet friends in that ward...but I was running late and at my family's house and if I went to the singles ward I would be late but if I went to the Family stk center, I would just make it.

(I hadn't been to the Broadcast at my home stake for over a year) Well I ran through the hall (walk reverently please) and out of breath I reached the lobby. Since, I chose to go to the fireside for the right reasons...I made it just when the first opening hymn started and there was that NZ guy sitting on the couch. He stood up when I ran in breathless.

While I was going in I asked him if he was going to come in, so he sat by me, but why was he sitting on the couch while it was starting already

I had some things to tell this kid, before he was going to be interested in me (2 late)????

(He told me later he was hoping I would come, that's why he was waiting on the couch , for me???? (weird)

Then after ward we both ended up at the Tongan Bishops house for refreshments and food we had some fun talking but I realized I had to let the visitor know now...and I took a big breath and did it.." ...so yeah did you know, I am 29 years old....yeah and I am leaving to go to Utah in a couple weeks ( I actually told him that on our first date, but while you are here we can be friends.. since I have a car....( The same speech I gave Jason) ...only this guy wasn't altered , even after a very awkward and long silent moment..( I had just given him the .....but, we can be friends line) In silence, we walked back to the car and then he then gave me a "sweet new" speech about age not making a difference in the heavens or in God's time and asking me, if he could take me up on being his friend and chaeuffer while he was in Arizona, for a short month of a holiday...oh okay, since you put it that way. ( I was always a pushover)

...Well You know the rest of the story.....

We were married the following year July 24th 2004 (Pioneer day at the Hamilton New Zealand Temple)

Our Wedding dance was to the song "How deep is your love version by NZ group "ADEASE" At the reception Aisake told everyone that when he met me it was like reading the Book of Mormon and knowing it was true...that was an unexpected funny.

cute together.

Big feast
Aisake still makes fun of me about this surprise traditional Ta'aulunga dance that my Aunty made me do. And we performed it obviously w/o any prior practices. I am sorta sticking my tongue out there on the side, at my Aunty for making me do this. Oh Please hurry this # up.

I love this picture of us at the dance before the wedding day...Wow I really do like you forever Sake!!
